About PAT testing

PAT testing helps businesses and landlords show they’ve taken reasonable steps to keep portable appliances safe.

What’s included

  • Visual inspection and electrical testing of each appliance

  • Pass or fail labels on every item

  • A digital register you can download

  • Minor repairs such as replacing plugs and fuses

How it works

Four steps, with a fixed price agreed before anything starts.

  1. 01

    Call or send photos

Tell us what you need. Photos often let us price without a visit.

  2. 02

    Fixed written quote

Usually within 24 hours of a survey.

  3. 03

    Work done, site left tidy

Dust sheets down and power off for as short a time as possible.

  4. 04

    Tested and certified

Your certificate is emailed and notifiable work is registered.

Questions about this service

Do you give fixed prices?
Yes. After a short survey, or a few photos for smaller jobs, we send a written fixed price. If we find something unexpected, we stop and agree any change with you before carrying on.
Are you registered and insured?
Yes. We are registered with a government-approved competent person scheme (Reg. no. 000000), so we can self-certify notifiable work, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance.
How soon can you start?
Small jobs are usually booked within a week. Rewires and larger projects are normally scheduled two to four weeks ahead.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Every job is tested to BS 7671 and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate. Notifiable work is registered with Building Control for you.
How long does an EICR take?
Most houses take three to four hours and flats a little less. You get a plain-English report with any observations coded and explained.
