General

How soon can you start?
Small jobs are usually booked within a week. Rewires and larger projects are normally scheduled two to four weeks ahead.
Do you cover emergencies?
Yes. Our emergency line is open 24/7 for power cuts, burning smells and circuits that keep tripping. Call 01632 960999 and we will talk you through staying safe until we arrive.
Do I need to move out during a rewire?
Usually not. We plan the work room by room so you keep a working kitchen and bathroom, and we make the house safe at the end of every day.

Pricing

Do you give fixed prices?
Yes. After a short survey, or a few photos for smaller jobs, we send a written fixed price. If we find something unexpected, we stop and agree any change with you before carrying on.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes for small jobs are free from photos, and surveys for larger work are free within our area.
How do I pay?
We take bank transfer or card on completion. Larger projects are staged, with a small deposit to book the start date.
Is VAT included in your prices?
Yes, every price we quote includes VAT, so the figure on the quote is the figure you pay.

Safety

Are you registered and insured?
Yes. We are registered with a government-approved competent person scheme (Reg. no. 000000), so we can self-certify notifiable work, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Every job is tested to BS 7671 and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate. Notifiable work is registered with Building Control for you.
How long does an EICR take?
Most houses take three to four hours and flats a little less. You get a plain-English report with any observations coded and explained.

EV charging

Can my home take an EV charger?
Most homes can. We check your supply, earthing and main fuse first, then recommend a charger with load management so it never overloads the house.
Do I need off-street parking for a charger?
Usually yes. Running a cable across a pavement is not allowed without council approval. We check your parking and supply on the survey.
Can you help with charger grants?
Grant schemes change often. We check what currently applies to your home on the survey and help with the paperwork if you qualify.
