Electrician with a head torch checking a closed consumer unit in a dark hallway during a night-time callout.

About Emergency callouts

Electrical faults rarely happen at a convenient time. Our on-call electrician covers nights, weekends and bank holidays across the whole service area.

What’s included

  • Callout and the first hour of labour

  • Fault finding and making the installation safe

  • Temporary repairs where they’re needed

  • A written quote for any permanent work

Before we arrive

If you can smell burning or see scorch marks, switch off at the consumer unit if it’s safe to do so and keep away from the area. If anyone has had an electric shock, call 999 first.

How it works

Four steps, with a fixed price agreed before anything starts.

  1. 01

    Call or send photos

Tell us what you need. Photos often let us price without a visit.

  2. 02

    Fixed written quote

Usually within 24 hours of a survey.

  3. 03

    Work done, site left tidy

Dust sheets down and power off for as short a time as possible.

  4. 04

    Tested and certified

Your certificate is emailed and notifiable work is registered.

Questions about this service

Do you give fixed prices?
Yes. After a short survey, or a few photos for smaller jobs, we send a written fixed price. If we find something unexpected, we stop and agree any change with you before carrying on.
Are you registered and insured?
Yes. We are registered with a government-approved competent person scheme (Reg. no. 000000), so we can self-certify notifiable work, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance.
How soon can you start?
Small jobs are usually booked within a week. Rewires and larger projects are normally scheduled two to four weeks ahead.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Every job is tested to BS 7671 and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate. Notifiable work is registered with Building Control for you.
Do you cover emergencies?
Yes. Our emergency line is open 24/7 for power cuts, burning smells and circuits that keep tripping. Call 01632 960999 and we will talk you through staying safe until we arrive.
